My Grandma

Unfortunately, after getting home from the zoo around 8:45pm, my Grandma Hill (101 years old) passed away.  She lived a long life and outlived 2 of her own children.  Here are some pictures in memory of her.  May she rest in peace.

The picture below is of Dirk...four generations, she would have been 94.

This picture is her with Brock.

A day at the Milwaukee Zoo

Every year we get invited to go to the Milwaukee Zoo by the Children's Hospital of Milwaukee for their Herma Heart Care Clinic Zoo picnic.  Thie first year we went it was just Dirk, then we took Dirk and Mack and this year it was Brock's turn to go and we had a lot of fun.  Dirk was excited to see the lions, tigers and bears, Mack couldn't wait to see the giraffes, and Brock was excited to see the silly penguins.  It was a beautiful day!  At our first pit stop, the boys couldn't wait to help Dad wash the windows.

Almost forgot about these last pictures that Chad had on his phone.

End of the day train ride.  All 3 were asleep within minutes of leaving the zoo.

Camping in the backyard

My nephew, Jake helped me put the tent up prior to the night of sleep.  The boys were pretty excited to sleep in the tent, even if it was in the backyard.  I didn't think they would make it through the night (or, was secretly hoping they wouldn't, because I knew it was going to be rough on my body), but they did it.  But before going to sleep, no camping night would be complete without scary stories and with a flashlight pointed on their faces.  Dirk and Brock were out within 5 minutes of telling stories while Mack and I tossed and turned for a bit at the beginning and throughout the night.

  Next morning looks.
